OK, So it's time for a bit of a reality check. Pigs are pigs people. They will grow, they will poo, they will dig up things. Lots of breeds have been mis-sold in the past as something they are not. We will always be 100% honest with you as to the size they will get to.
A fully grown adult pig (not ours I might add) can reach 39" ( 1 metre) in height and 72" (1.8M) in length. weighing in at a whoo-oopping 300kg.
Our very first two pigs, Hazel and spots are 20" tall and our Boar "thor" is 12" tall. Thor is part of a breeding program that has raised the smallest pigs available, sourcing broodstock from America and other countries. His lineage can be trast back to the age of King Arthur...only jocking..but wouldn't tat be something!
He is a Swedish little pig, and we genuinely have his family tree, going back a number of generations.
The reason we chose to breed Thor with Hazel and Spots, who aren't as small as he his, is because we absolutely adore both of our girls, they are gentle, their personalities are wonderful and they have lovely colouration. That's not to say Thor isn't a handsome gentle God of a pig, because he is, but we felt the match would bring out something special, and it has.
The long and short of it, is, Size isn't everything. These pigs are miniature by definition, but don't expect one to fit in a teacup, a breadbin or even a bucket. They will always grow, and you need to be prepared for that. We would much rather give you all of the information up front and you say...do you know what? I don't think I have the space for that. Which is preferable to you taking one of our pigs and then realising in two years time, that you have to give them to someone else. It's a heart-breaking process that happens all too often.
Please remember, that they need their space, they need their love, they need their belly rubs, and most of all they need their fooood!
